영국 런던 경찰청은 6월 14일 현지시간으로 새벽 0시55분 발생한 런던 웨스트 지역의 24층 고층 아파트 화재로 6명이 사망했으며, 여기서 늘어날 가능성이 높다고 발표했습니다.

또 의료 기관에 약 50명이 부상으로 치료를 받고 있다고 말했습니다.

이 건물은 1974년 런던 시 구 당국의 공공주택 개발로 지어진 건물입니다. 입주민 단체가 2012년부터 켈시 켄싱턴구 당국에 화재 위험을 알렸으나 조치는 없었습니다.

This is terrible for the residents, their friends and relatives. Fire safety in tower blocks built in the 60's and 70's has always been a concern because many were built on the cheap. Was there an automatic sprinkler system in place, was there an adequet fire alarm system?. I have a relative living in a central Birmingham tower block, built around the same time and the lack of a sprinkler system worries me deeply. The time has come for an immediate review of fire safety precautions in all multi occupied dwellings. Those that don't or cannot comply must be demolished.

in an ideal world. i live on the 11th floor of a block and we are told its not required. We dont even have a fire alarm! When there is a fire, all we have is each other banging on doors. Im still suffering breathing problems 3 weeks from a fire.... my heart goes out to these people
