중국의 한 예비역 소장이 남중국해 분쟁 해결 차원에서 미국의 항공모함 두 척을 격침할 필요가 있을지 모른다고 발언한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

지난해 12월 23일(현지시간) 대만 중앙통신사(CNA)에 따르면 같은 달 20일 중국 선전에서 열린 방위산업 관련 최고위급 회의 도중 중국인민해방군 군사과학원 세계군사연구부 부부장인 뤄위안(羅援) 예비역 소장이 이렇게 발언한 것으로 전해집니다.

그의 위협적인 발언은 전문가들이 올해 남중국해에서 미군과 중국군 사이에 전쟁이 일어날 수 있음을 경고한 지 10일 뒤 나왔습니다.

2일 홍콩 사우스차이나모닝포스트(SCMP)에 따르면 인민해방군은 신년을 맞아 “인민해방군의 전쟁 준비태세는 2019년 가장 중요한 사항”이라며 “언제 있을지 모르는 전쟁을 대비하고 비상사태에 대한 대응 능력을 개선해야 한다”고 밝혔습니다.
