콘스탄틴 시모노프의 2차대전 시

 

 

콘스탄틴 시모노프( Константи́н Миха́йлович Си́монов)는 시인으로, 아래는 러시아 2차대전 때 그가 쓴 시입니다.

 

 

날 기다려줘

 

날 기다려줘 나는 돌아가, 오직 아주 굳게 기다려줘
네가 지켜보는 가운데 우울한 황색의 비가 비탄으로 채울 때까지 너는 기다린다.
눈보라가 몰아쳐도 기다려.
무더운 여름날 속에서 기다려.
그들이 어제를 잊고, 다른 사람들이 기다림을 멈춰도 기다려.
편지가 네게 도착하지 않아도 기다려.
다른 사람들이 기다림에 지쳐도 기다려.

날 기다려줘 나는 돌아가, 하지만 끈기 있게 기다려.
분부하건데 그것을 잊지 말고 기다려.
나의 어머니와 아들이 더 이상 나를 생각하지 않아도 기다려.
그리고 나의 친구들이 나를 위해 불 주위에 둘러앉아 마실 때.
기다려 그리고 내 서두르지 말고 나의 기억도 함께 마셔.

기다려 나는 돌아가, 매일 죽음을 무시하며.
기다리지 않은 누군가는 그건 내게 있어 행운이라 하겠지.
그들은 죽음 한가운데 그것을 절대 이해할 수 없어.
너와 너의 기다림이 나를 구했다는 것을.
오직 너와 나만이 내가 살아남은 방법을 알 수 있어:

Wait when the wind sweeps the snowdrifts.
Wait in the sweltering heat.
Wait when others have stopped waiting, forgetting their yesterdays.
Wait even when from afar no letters come for you.
Wait even when others are tired of waiting.

 

Wait for me and I’ll return, but wait patiently.
Wait even when you are told that you should forget.
Wait even when my mother and son think I am no more.
And when friends sit around the fire drinking to my memory
Wait and do not hurry to drink to my memory too.

 

Wait for me and I’ll return, defying every death.
And let those who do not wait say that I was lucky.
They will never understand that in the midst of death
You with your waiting saved me.
Only you and I will know how I survived:
It was because you waited as no one else did.
