영국 북한에 6년동안 400만파운드 제공 영국반응

영국 보수당 정부가 출범한 2010년부터 6년간 대북 공적개발원조 자금 총액이 400만파운드를 넘는다고 데일리메일이 보도했습니다.

2013년에 가장 많은 130만파운드가 제공됐으며, 가장 적었던 2015년에는 74만파운드가 지원됐습니다.

영국이 북한에 지원한 금액은 노동당 집권 마지막 해인 2009년에는 32,000파운드에 그쳤지만, 보수당 정부가 전체 공적개발원조 목표치를 국내총생산(GDP) 대비 0.7%로 높이면서 큰 폭으로 늘었습니다.

이 자금은 북한 관리들 대상 영어 교육, 그리고 북한 주민들을 위한 물리치료 장비 지원 등에 쓰였다고 하며, 북한 정권에 직접 건네지는 게 아닌 개별 프로젝트에 투입됐으며 원조를 중단할 계획은 없다고 대변인은 설명했습니다.
